Meeting environmentally and socially responsible criteria is extremely important to us at hülyahome and Origanami. We believe that we have a responsibility to provide premium quality products to our consumers while preserving, replenishing and enriching the existence and lives of all things that our products could have an impact on. That reach encompasses the lands, the waterways, the wildlife and the people, from farm to consumer.
Fairtrade International Certification
Fairtrade Certification means that farmers get a guaranteed fair trade price for their crop, which is produced without using harmful pesticides, child labor or forced labor.
Farmers get paid a guaranteed minimum of 20 percent higher than market price for their products, but many companies go above and beyond that.
In addition, the farmer producer cooperatives receive a premium price on top of the minimum price which is negotiated between farmers, producers, business owners and the Fairtrade Organization, calculated and based on volume sold. The premium price funds go into the cooperative and is democratically voted on and distributed for community needs; whether it be a water well, medical clinic or school supplies.
